St. Pius X Affordability and Financial Aid for 2026-2027
We also offer financial aid based on a family's financial need and available funds for active parishioners who might qualify for SGO's for tuition and fees that are over the voucher amounts. We are committed to assisting students who desire a Catholic education.
What is the Indiana Choice Scholarship ("voucher") Program?
Indiana's Choice Scholarship Program, commonly referred to as the voucher program, (authorized under IC 20-51-1 and IC 20-51-4) provides scholarships to ALL (beginning in 2026-2027 all students will be eligible) Indiana students to offset tuition and fees at participating schools. Participating schools and interested parents/guardians work together to enroll students. The scholarship could cover some or all of your student's tuition and fees.
Families do have a choice where their children attend school. You may be one of the many families who can take advantage of the Indiana School Choice Scholarship for students in grades K-12th.
For the 2026-2027 school year, Indiana's Choice Scholarship rules are changing significantly:
All Indiana residents will become eligible as income caps are removed, making it an universal program starting in mid-2026, with applications opening in March 2026, allowing any student in Indiana to receive funds for participating private schools, including faith-based ones, with awards covering a portion of tuition and fees.
Key Changes for 2026-2027:
Universal Eligibility: No more income limits; every Indiana resident K-12 student can apply.
Application Period: Opens in March 2026 for the upcoming school year.
General Rules & How It Works:
What it Covers: The scholarship provides funds (around 90% of state per-pupil funding) toward private school tuition and fees.
Where to Use: At Indiana Department of Education-approved private schools, including religious ones.
Application: You apply through your chosen participating school, not directly to the state.
Special Education: Choice Schools must accommodate students with IEPs/504s by creating a Comprehensive Special Education Plan (CSEP).
Parent Responsibility: Parents pay any tuition/fees beyond the scholarship amount.
St. Pius is happy to accept Indiana Choice Scholarship
We are a Catholic School that admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship, and other school-administered programs. The Indiana state legislature simplified and expanded the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program. If your student meets the following three requirements, they are eligible for a Choice Scholarship:
1. The student is an Indiana resident. 2. The student is at lest 5 years old as of October 1st. 3. Families will need to verify their primary address on the contracts. Drivers license with current address will be the simplest, or other qualifying documents for proof of residency. 4. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
The amount you will receive depends on your local public school district. You can view the estimated award amount by district below.
SPX grants financial assistance based upon the availability of budgeted funds, and the level of need from families requesting aid. The online application will be available. YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED BY MAY 15 to be considered for St. Pius X assistance. A fee of $45 is charged by FACTS. All families requesting additional financial assistance are required to apply through FACTS. FACTS assesses a family’s level of financial need based on reported income, assets, household size, and expenses.
If there are extenuating circumstances that may not be fully reflected in the FACTS application, families are encouraged to provide a detailed explanation in the Comments section of the application so those factors can be carefully considered. If financial concerns are causing you to hesitate in considering St. Pius, we strongly encourage you to apply for tuition assistance. Financial aid has helped make a St. Pius education possible for many families. All requests are reviewed individually and awarded based on demonstrated need and available funds.
Families who need assistance beyond the amount of their voucher award, and who are identified by FACTS (link below) as having additional financial need, may be eligible for further support through SGO funds or directly from St. Pius.
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year must be submitted by May 15, 2026. Assistance may also help families experiencing unexpected financial hardships, such as illness or job loss, allowing students to remain enrolled at St. Pius X.
